Aiden Vasquez

Aiden Vasquez won a 4 year battle against Governor Kim Reynolds, DHS, and the State of Iowa, challenging Iowa’s ban on providing Medicaid coverage to transgender Iowans seeking gender-affirming surgery. Vasquez has a podcast called TransHaven. He runs a transgender support group for parents, familes and allies called Transgender Family Love and Support. He also runs a support group called TransFamily Political Information and Advocacy Group, providing a space for members to share their fears and concerns surrounding the political issues they are facing. The Aiden J. Vasquez Foundation raises money to help people in the community, providing gaffs, shapewear, binders, trans tape, food, shelter, gas cards, car repairs, and assistance with name and gender marker change.

Vasquez will share his journey with us via Zoom from 6-7 PM. The remaining hour is reserved for sharing and support. You are welcome to join us in person at the library. If you prefer to attend via Zoom, please RSVP on our website and we will e-mail the link to join us the day before the meeting.
