Scott Rippe of Rippeology

Scott Rippe, new to Mount Horeb along with his husband of 29 years, is the weather enthusiast behind Rippeology, a Facebook community page with nearly 43,000 followers in southern Wisconsin.  Scott spent the first 37 years of his career in media, advertising and marketing, but now follows his childhood weather passion full-time with forecasts, weather education and occasional adult humor at Rippeology

"From the perspective of a shy kid who came out to his mother in 1982 -- a different environment for the LGBTQIA+ community -- I'll share a bit of my own story of self-awareness and the family support systems that allowed me to "be me" as I entered adulthood.  We'll talk about some of the lessons I've learned about the best and most appreciated ways to support and understand loved ones.  And naturally, we'll chat a bit about the heavy gay presence in the meteorological community."
