About the event

This one hour presentation on LGBTQIA+ Youth and Mental Well-Being will look at current information available on gender and sexual orientation, as well as pronoun use, some of the prevalent social issues and root causes as they relate to the LGBTQIA+ community, and how trauma impacts those within the LGBTQIA+ community.  Additionally, a discussion around institutional discrimination (including our current political climate) will be addressed.

Dr. Hutter is currently providing services in various roles. He is a visiting professor at Iona University in New York, the Gender Services Specialist at Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center, adjunct faculty for Northwestern University,  as well as owning his own private practice where he provides consultation, supervision, and trainings. His clinical work focuses on LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, sexual dysfunction, conflictual couples, persons belonging to the immigrant community, and suicide prevention. Dr. Hutter holds one master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, another in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Hutter will speak from 6-7 PM. The remaining hour is reserved for sharing and support. This is a hybrid meeting. There is no need to RSVP to attending in person. Please RSVP if you prefer to attend via Zoom and the link will be emailed to you the evening before the event. This presentation is made possible due to a grant from the Mount Horeb Community Foundation.
